I saw this posted on Trisha Yearwood’s Facebook page.
I really wanted to go.
I mean, she had replied to a facbook comment I made while we were watching one of her new shows.
It would be the right thing to do.
Go support my friend.
I couldn’t think of anyone that would want to do this with me.
It’s an hour and half away from home.
My sister and I talked, ok texted, about it a little the day before, but really made no plans.
The next morning I get another text.
We go back and forth a little about it and the next thing I know
I am up, getting dressed to go see my BFF!
My sister went to Sam’s got us the tickets.
Now, what do I wear???
This is important.
It will be the first time I get to tell her we are BFFs.
I decide on a casual, but cute outfit.
Then, just in case I get the opportunity….
I printed off the Trisha Project page.
Hey, I might be able to tell her about it.
I grabbed my Trisha’s Table book and off to Oklahoma I went.
Went to my sister’s house for a little bit.
Then we headed up there.
The event had been going on a little while.
The line wasn’t very long really.
There she was!
Just standing there talking to folks.
Yep, she talked to EVERY. SINGLE. PERSON.
There was no one there hurrying you along.
She wasn’t sitting behind a table signing and shaking hands.
Nope, not my girl.
When you get to the front of the line….
There was a girl to hold your purse.
(she was funny too)
Another to take your phone/camera to take a picture for you if you want.
Then, when it was your turn, Trisha stepped toward you, hand extended, asking your name.
What’s my name?
Oh my goodness…
Me: I’m Carrie. It is an honor to meet you.
She looked down at my book to sign it and there it was…
The page I printed from here about the Trisha Project.
Trisha: What’s this?
Me: Well, you know that movie about Julia and the girl that cooks and blogs?
Me: Well, we are BFFs and I am cooking your recipes and write about it.
I almost ran over you in Target once too.
Trisha: You should have!
Trisha laughs and starts to read the page.
Me: It’s kinda long.
Trisha: Can I keep this?
Trisha: Is your contact info on here (while she looks at the back too) in case I need to call the cops….laughing!
Me: Laughing nervously.
Then she signs my book.
Puts the page about my project with her other stuff on her chair.
Time for the picture.
Me: Our outfits even coordinate.
Trisha: It’s like we called each other.
Me: Yep, planned it! (DYING!!!)
I think I have saved this picture in 5 places so it doesn’t get lost.
Beth wasn’t there.
I looked for her.
I say that and have to tell you, others in line were hoping for Garth.
Sure, love him too, but I was hoping for Beth if there was going to be an added bonus.
Thank you to my sister who went with me.
It was a fabulous day!
If Trisha reads this and I hear from her
And not the cops
Y’all will be the first to know.
Well, except for the people that will hear me scream!
